Pilot Findings Webinar
We held a webinar on June 2nd, 2021 led by Kate Stower, University of Minnesota Humphrey School graduate research assistant, that took us through the research and findings from our initial meetings.
Learn MoreIn 2021-2022, we held over 100+ convenings as part of our 100 in 100 Project.
We listened and learned that connections are essential in your life. Further, you don’t always take the time to take care of yourself. Thanks to your input, we were able to create meetings specifically designed to encourage connection. Although our 100 in 100 Project has been concluded, we continue to offer these meetings for any and all women.
Check out our Findings:
45-minute “Ask a Leading Woman” sessions feature rural women sharing their life story and pathway to leadership, serving as formal and informal leaders. After each presentation, we facilitate a Q&A and discussion for the participants to learn more about their current roles and how to get involved.
30-minute “Mind & Body Resiliency through Movement” sessions guide participants in basic yoga, meditation, relaxation, and other restorative practices. No equipment or gear is necessary, feel free to join in comfy clothes! Relax and let our trained facilitators lead you through the rest.
Feel the benefits of linking your breath with movement. We explore well-rounded sequences that build core strength and increase balance and flexibility. Each class includes an opening meditation, options for practicing comfortably at your own pace, and an ending relaxation. This class is appropriate for all levels. A yoga mat is helpful if available.
In the spring of 2021 we held pilot meetings in the Northeastern region of Minnesota. Soon after, in the summer of 2021 through the spring of 2021, we traveled (virtually) across rural Minnesota region by region. Then, in early fall we held meetings in the metro counties and areas. These convenings created connections with women, strategies to better support each other, explored existing formal and informal networks, and identified barriers and opportunities to overcome. Two topics that were especially discussed were woman leadership and the importance of mentorship. Additionally, in light of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we discussed the challenges of COVID and what positives we can take forward.
Our goal was to ignite action in community, leadership, civic engagement, and rural entrepreneurship, while simultaneously identifying opportunities and connecting women with each other.
As our organization continues to develop our next projects, please continue to share with us. We want your feedback and suggestions on how we can add value as an organization. Just email: teresa@100ruralwomen.org
We convened (virtually!) 4 small groups of women to share how we work, participate in our communities, learn from one another, and to discuss what leadership looks like for women.
For our pilot project in Northwestern Minnesota, we had four webinar dates. All four followed the same format, and provided an opportunity to connect with other amazing women from the northwestern part of the state.

Learn MoreInformed by our Pilot convenings, we held 30 virtual meetings statewide in Summer and Fall 2021!
We held a Webinar on Nov. 18th to share our findings from our meeting across the State this past summer / early fall and how these learnings will shape our next 50 meetings!
