Mental Health Awareness
Wednesday, July 21at 8:30 am CST
We hosted a mindful discussion on mental health awareness lead by two notable activists working to disrupt the stigma. Monica Kramer, LPC, currently serves as a Rural Mental Health Specialist, whereas Katie Shatusky is the Executive Director of a non-profit dedicated to serving those affected by mental health struggles. These two leaders helped us understand the importance of creating awareness while suggesting ways to get involved.
Presenters:

Thumbs Up is all about embracing those who are struggling with a mental health disorder, have lost a loved one to suicide and breaking the stigma around mental health. They help connect, support and encourage one another to talk about their feelings and challenges and to “Keep Moving Forward.” They are dedicated to educating and teaching about mental illness, the warning signs of suicide and what you can do to help others who struggle with a mental health disorder through community initiatives.
