Join us for this interactive webinar and to learn more about  Project REACH  (Rural Experts Advancing Community Health)  a year-long health policy training for community leaders in rural Minnesota.
 
Engage with University of Minnesota Rural Health Program Manager Katie Rydberg to learn about the program model and curriculum, as well as provide information on the application process  Also presenting will be past program participant Shelly Muñoz,  Shelly is an education consultant for Sourcewell in central Minnesota and will share about her policy work and experience in the program.

Katie Rydberg

Program Manager for the University of Minnesota Rural Health Program.

Katie Rydberg is a Program Manager for the University of Minnesota Rural Health Research Center. She manages the operations and development of the Rural Health Program, which provides training and support for public health and health policy challenges in rural Minnesota, including the Project REACH (Rural Experts Advancing Community Health) program. In addition, she has contributed to research projects related to access to care for rural residents and social determinants impacting rural health outcomes. Prior to joining the University of Minnesota, she coordinated a local substance abuse prevention and mental health coalition in Rice County, Minnesota. Katie holds a BA in Psychology and Sociology/Anthropology from St. Olaf College and an MPH in Community Health Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Shelly Muñoz

Community Health Leader

Shelly Muñoz, is a  STEM Curriculum Coordinator for Brainerd Public Schools and former education consultant for Sourcewell in central Minnesota.  She has more than 25 years experience in the classroom. She is especially passionate about science and STEM education, advocating for equitable opportunities for all students to find their voice in STEM and supporting initiatives that enable young people to achieve what they once thought was impossible. Muñoz holds a Master of Science degree from California Baptist University and is deeply committed to addressing the mental health needs of individuals in rural communitie
