CMN Learn About It: Town Board

September 28, 2022 at 6:45 pm to 7:30 pm CDT

Welcome to our Civic Mentorship Network “Learn About It” meetings!

Town Board: Julie Lucas

Women belong in leadership positions, including you. We at 100 Rural Women want to join you in your journey as you pursue public service positions. Specifically, providing you with the necessary resources for support. And the most valuable resources are the very women who are making a difference in their communities. Thus, at these meetings, women from various public service backgrounds will discuss their paths to leadership and the barriers they’ve overcome. Our goal is to facilitate a mentorship environment that provides you with encouragement and support in your own leadership journey.

Julie Lucas is an environmental professional who commits herself to community and our natural resources. Serving in various positions for different companies, Julie knows the mining industry well. Presently, she is the Executive Director of Mining Minnesota. In addition to her career path, Julie’s leadership in the community extends into other positions. As a French Town Board Supervisor, she actively volunteers at and organizes events. Specifically, as a part of this role, Julie spends a lot of her time overseeing the road program. As a result of her own journey, Julie works to support other women in their pursuit of leadership and public service.

Learn More About Julie!

You’re invited to hear more from Julie herself at this Civic Mentorship Network “Learn About It” meeting!

ABOUT THE CIVIC MENTORSHIP NETWORK

The Civic Mentorship Network is comprised of rural civic leaders who serve as mentors for new women who are pursuing public service and leadership positions. This network provides a coordinated method for aspiring leaders to make person-to-person connections that give access to resources that are valuable to enduring success. At 100 Rural Women, we find that success in recruiting more rural women to serve in public service leadership roles is essential to keeping our democracy strong.
