Alisa Benson RYT200
Meet our resiliency facilitator, Alisa Benson, who provides virtual yoga sessions with 100 Rural Women. Alisa came to teaching after years of practice and a habit of staying after class to ask questions. Always up for new experiences, she was part of The Yoga Center Retreat’s first-ever virtual teacher training. Through here, she became certified in 2021.
As a former social worker, Alisa’s teaching is based in an empathetic and personal approach. She encourages students to cultivate curiosity and a sense of play in their practice. Alisa enjoys connecting with people from all walks of life and strives to create an inclusive atmosphere where all are welcome. Building community on and off the mat is one of her favorite things to do, along with telling anyone who will listen that yoga isn’t only for flexible people.
An amateur naturalist, Alisa enjoys nurturing native plants and the pollinators they attract. She believes that all life is “one mat” and through the practice of yoga we can better connect with ourselves, others and the world as a whole.
