About our interns

Meet the 100 Rural Women interns, in other words, the builders of our organization. Each of our interns get the chance to be a part of different parts of our organization including administration, program development and management, data and research, communications, and grant writing. It is because of their work that we have been able to connect with so many inspiring women like you. We invite you to learn more about the young people who have made a difference for our organization and rural women in America.

Spring 2026

Alissa’s home is with her family in Los Gatos, California, but she currently lives in Turlock. She is now in her last year and will graduate in the Spring of 2026 with a degree in Sociology, and a concentration in Social Justice. Outside of learning, Alissa enjoys spending time with her family & friends, dancing, singing, and “cat cuddles” from the Stan State campus cat, Charlie.

I am originally from Guanajuato, Mexico. I live in California and am studying at CSU Stanislaus, located in the central valley. I just came back from a study abroad semester in South Korea and am preparing to graduate this Spring with a bachelors in sociology. Outside of school, I enjoy going to concerts, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
